- Wednesday, July 20, 2005 in "bottom 3" with Daryl Brunt and Melissa O'Neil. Received the least amount of votes and was first cut from Top 10.
The infamous perceived "snub" that occured on the results show was indeed a misunderstanding. The next morning Emily appeared on Canada AM, explained what happened and said of Melissa O'Neil "We're great friends." The picture right appears on the Canadian Idol web site and was apparently taken when the TV cameras were not on them. Watch the Canada AM interview. - According to an Ottawa Sun interview with Emily, she has recorded "Don't Cry Out Loud" for the Canadian Idol Top 10 CD!
- Canadian Idol "High Notes" was released in stores across Canada on August 23, 2005. Emily performs "Don't Cry Out Loud" on track 7.
- August 26, 2005 Emily appears at Fairview Mall in Toronto with all the Top 10 Idols to promote Canadian Idol "High Notes".
- Emily, along with other Top 8 Idols, in audience for Top 2 performance, September 13, 2005.
- September 14, 2005 Emily appears for the last time on the Canadian Idol stage for the finale show. In the first group performance she had a solo/duet part with Ashley where they sang "To Sir With Love". Later, when the Idols featured their singles from the "High Notes" CD, Emily was the first to sing and she sang the chorus part of "Don't Cry Out Loud". As a special tribute to Debra Byrd, the Idols sang "Dedicated to the One I Love." The last group performance, Green Day's "Good Riddance", was dedicated to the Idols family and friends; Emily's microphone did not work when it was her turn to sing.
