The Royal Canadian Legion sold tulip bulbs this year in celebration of their 75th Anniversary. I purchased a package of 10 Queen Wilhelmina (Legion Brilliant) bulbs from Wal-Mart. I purchased the Iris, Scilla, and Shirley Tulip bulbs (pictured below) from Wal-Mart. They were dried out and small in size. We'll see if they bloom or not come Spring.

n September 12, 2001 I planted my Fall bulbs - 534 in total! After the death of so many in the World Trade Tower bombings in New York City, I believed my bulbs to be a symbol of hope and of remembrance. My mother, when telling her how many bulbs I planted, exclaimed "Jodi! Where on Earth did you stick them all?!" Believe it or not, they all fit in my front yard flower beds. I can scarcely wait until Spring 2002 to see the glorious show of color! I'll be sure to take pictures and put them up on this web site to share with my virtual visitors.
